Ensuring that poverty-stricken people in the rural areas are lifted out of poverty by 2020 is an arduous task to build a well-off society in an all-round way. In 2016, the Ministry of Water Resources made every effort to advance targeted poverty alleviation, and comprehensively started the fight against poverty. Statistics show that in 2016, a total of 832 * poverty-stricken counties have invested 34 billion yuan in central water conservancy construction to support the construction of rural water conservancy infrastructure. The Ministry of Water Resources has designated the annual tasks of 4 counties in Chongqing Fengdu, Wulong, Chengkou, and Wuxi. It was successfully completed, helping Fengdu and Wulong counties to achieve poverty alleviation by the end of 2016 as scheduled.

 

At the beginning of 2016, the State Council Leading Group for Poverty Alleviation and Development put water conservancy and poverty alleviation development among the top ten industries in the 13th Five-Year Plan and put forward specific tasks. In order to implement the central government's decision-making and deployment on poverty alleviation, the Ministry of Water Resources attaches great importance to accelerating the construction of the "six major projects" for poverty alleviation in the water conservancy industry, focusing on initiating poverty alleviation in the industry, targeted poverty alleviation, district connection, counterpart support, and "five-in-one" poverty alleviation in old district construction Tough battle.
